I like metal bases. I don't like paying for them, however, and I don't like washers as bases. It's probably a result of being raised on Games Workshop, but I want my bases to have nice crisp sides. It's also nice for a base to have a depression, especially for miniatures that have cast-on bases. I don't know of any round metal bases with a depression, which is why a bag of these arrived at my house earlier this month. They are readily available on eBay.
