Uptown Gamer LFG: SBH/TBH/2HW/FOF/Frostgrave

Postby Josh O'Connor » Wed Nov 16, 2016 12:46 pm

Hi, I recently moved to Uptown and am looking to set up some regular gaming either at my place (near Green Mill/Riviera/Aragon) or somewhere reachable in 30-45 minutes. I play:

Tales of Blades and Heroes
5150, All Things Zombie and other Two Hour Wargames
Ambush Alley/Force on Force (particularly Cold War Gone Hot)
4 Against Darkness (Works as an amazing beer & pretzels coop Dungeon crawler!)
Frostgrave (prefer coop)

I am also building my own space fleet minis and 28mm modular medieval buildings with polymer clay and making molds of them, for anyone who thinks that's a cool thing to do. And I need to do a TON of painting :)

Cheers
Josh

Welcome Josh,

Sounds like you enjoy many of the games we play.

I'd love to see your buildings, post some photos when you get a chance.

Welcome to CSW Josh,
Some of the specific titles may be a bit different, but it sounds like you're into the same kind of games that we play!

Hope you can make it to a meeting sometime. Like Tim, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your custom minis and buildings. CSW has a HUGE respect and interest in DIY gaming.

Thanks guys. I will watch for the next meeting I can attend and post some pics of my buildings project. I'm also making some space fleet minis for 5150 out of Super Sculpey, though it's tough to work with unless you use the 'firm' product that helps you get hard edges. I gotta get better with a craft knife (or buy a better craft knife for cutting soft polymer clay!)

I also live near Dice Dojo which has a TON of scenery for players to use. If that is convenient to anyone would love to meet up there.

I'm interested in learning to play the games you guys play with the caveat that I can't invest in miniatures.

I'd be up to play at Chicagoland Games.

Their board game night is Wednesday now, according to their calendar and FB pages. Ill go there tomorrow, Monday, and may bring a game. Or otherwise just hang out and paint spaceships. Their basement had ample tables last Monday, not sure what Thursday is like but I can check this week. The have a ton of scenery in the basement!
