Konflikt 47

Postby Eilif » Mon Jun 26, 2017 1:48 pm

Hey Guys sounds like you guys enjoyed Konflikt 47. What's the requirements for a standard sized game? If you guys are going to play occasionally I thought I might put together a force.

One option would be to see if Jon has any DUST Germans he's willing to part with.

The other option I saw was the possibilty of quickly making a bargain US Marines force from the Dust figs in the MIniature market clearance section.

They come basecoated and assembled so some block colors and a dip and I'd be set.

Is there a limit to the number of BAR's a squad can have? If not, I could base my core around a couple copies of this USMC pack:

Heavy Squads here:

and depending on the unit sizes of power armor, I could easily convert up some of these:

Mechs are cheap too, though I've also got plenty of options on hand for tanks and walkers.

There's also similarly priced US Army figs though I gather that Josh is already doing US Army.

What do you guys think?

I like it quite a bit and would like to play again soon.

750-1000 points is the standard size, and would probably scale up easily. Tim and I played 750 points, and I think i'd like to play at least one more game at that size before moving up to 1000.

a force requires a lieutenant, and 2 troop units, per platoon. Each platoon has restrictions. Example- if you want to bring multiple medium or heavy tanks, they are one per platoon, so you would need a lieutenant and 2 troop units for each tank. Medium and Heavy walkers fall into the same slot as tanks. Light walkers are categorized as armored transports.

there are BAR limits... 2 per squad, if I remember correctly. if you use the k47.easyarmy.com army builder, it will show you all the possibilities. It's pretty simple, and the printable list has all the special rules for your units.

Karl, you could easily proxy your Cadians if you wanted to try it out.

If you don't mind Kindle format, the rules are only $15 on Amazon:

To give an idea of what we were using, I had a walker and a tank, plus a commander (3 figs) two special weapons teams (2 figs each) and two squads of 11- so less than 30 guys. The Soviets get extra troops, so you would probably be using fewer troops.

I would agree can easily try out the game with your imperial guard.

If you want to pick up new minis for the game and are interested in running British, Miniature market has that starter on clearance. They have robots, so that's cool. http://www.miniaturemarket.com/wlg451510601.html

That's probably about the same cost as putting together an equivalent force from Dust guys. The Soviet starter is the same price, and I would pick that up if you want to go in on an order together.

I really like the british automatons! I read that they are difficult to assemble, but they look awesome!

Thanks for the info guys.

Tim, the British is a pretty good deal, but I'm not a fan of the Warlord sculpts or the british robots and I can get all the infantry I'd need (already have tanks and walkers)pretty cheaply.

Josh,
I looked at Easy Army and you're right, I'd have to do a few weapon swaps, but I'll probably go dust anyway. I like the look of the figs.
I'm looking at these figs:
-3 boxes of the BAR squads above (18 figs)
-1 box of heavy weapons squads (2 teams and 2 officers)
-2 boxes of the Heavy Rangers Command Squad (6 heavy troopers)

Would come to $36 and would push my "Customer hold" orders at MM over the $100 mark for free shipping.

Went ahead and bought the Konflikt 47 British starter set. Still don't like the robots all that much but maybe they'll grow on me and even without them, with the dice and rulebook the $67 deal was too good to pass up. Plus, ever since I was a kid playing with 1/72 plastics and toy army men, the Tommies were always my favorite.

If anyone else wants anything from Minis market with free shipping let me know. I'm well over the threshold so at the end of the day tomorrow I'm going to have my hold-orders mailed to me.

I really think the automatons nailed the british 1940s design aesthetic.

The pin markers in the starter sets are very cool also. They have marks on the base, and rotate to mark how many pins a unit has. I was bummed out that I forgot mine last time we played.

I agree, I just like a chunkier aesthetic. However, Howie saw the picture of the robots and loves them so that's reason enough to paint them up.

A couple other questions...

1) Am I going to need more activation dice if the army gets any bigger?

2) Are the troops in the boxed set plastic? Just curious if the West Wind gasmasked heads (see the WW group buy in marketplace) that I'm going to order will be a simple head swap or require a bit of filing.

The starter sets come with 6 order dice and we each needed 7 for our test game. You need one for each unit, so you will probably need more. On the other hand, you don't really NEED them, I used regular dice for our game.

The basic troops are plastic, with separate heads. The robots are metal.

the troops are plastic. the tank is plastic, metal, and resin. The walker is metal and resin, and the automatons are metal. The west wind heads should be a drop in replacement with little to no filing necessary.

You will need more dice, but you don't need the special dice... any dice will be fine as long as they are the same size and color. I used the official dice, and Tim used purple dice and we had no issues.

clarification- each player needs 1 die for each unit in their force. each player needs a different color, and all dice should be the same size. Standard chessex dice are fine.
