As predicted earlier, the MM order came today with Tim's Soviets. Also West Wind came over from the UK surprisingly fast so I've got Josh's gas masked US heads also.

Was digging through my bits today and I found 20 gas masked heads in Turbans that I had purchased years ago from recreational conflict when they were clearancing Ramshackle games stuff. Even before the airborne or Commandos, I think the next unit for the Brits will have to be a Sikh platoon. Apparently they were in Europe during the Italian campaign.

All the basic infantry are assembled and I'm halfway through the tank. No paint yet though.

I''m almost finished assembling my K47 stuff (these robots are fidddddddly). They won't be finished by the next meeting but I'll probably have a basecoat and at least one other color on by then.

I'm not terribly impressed with Warlord's plastics either. on a frame of 8 guys, the soviets have two guys kneeling and one crawling, so that's fairly limited. I do like the variety of weapons available.

I think If I pick up more figures, they will be more older metal figures. It probably won't happen, since i have a lot of the plastic guys. i might consider a weapons team or two, maybe.

If anyone does want metal figures, Gaddis Gaming and Black Tree Designs have sales right now.

The US sprues are similar. The regular infantry sprues have 1 kneeling and no prone. The marine sprues have 1 of each, and the airborne sprues have 2 prone, and 1 kneeling. They are that way to make MMG teams, though.

I was able to use different arms/weapons/bits/heads to keep each trooper fairly individual. There is a surprising amount of customization. I did do some hand swaps, and used bits from across all three sprues as well to keep things different

The soviets don't have quite as many options. They only have two sprues and half of the pieces are the same on both of them. the amount that the other half can be swapped between the two is limited.
