Still alive. Been slammed with life recently so nothing gaming for the last few months. Yeah I played them as mechs in Panzer8 many years ago. There's photos out there somewhere.
Glad to hear the KoW game went off well. Sorry I missed that.
Michael, I could possibly do sometime in March. I guess I have to figure out how many points I have for Epiq and lay some more paint. What ruleset or ruleset version are you wanting to use. I have old Epic rulebooks, and there's an Epiq Facebook group with a fan updated ruleset (I'll dig up the link) and Panzer8 is super simple though I can't recall if it has infantry stands. Happy to play that as well.

Re: 40K Epic
Hi Jon,
I would be open to using Panzer 8 rules, I always like games that are a little simpler. There were two listings for infantry that I used for my army list using those rules. I also have the 40K Epic boxed set so I have those rules if you want to use them. Lastly I have the last official rules put out by G.W. which was a paperback rules book. As far as the two G.W. rules the ones in the box seem less complicated so I would like to go with them. The paperback book came out, from what I read, because players thought the boxed set rules were too simple and wanted something like the original version of the game.
Would you like to come out to my place in Bolingbrook for a game or would you like to play at your place? Let me know how many points you may have. I can always paint up some more miniatures if needed.

Re: 40K Epic
Michael,
I have started painting my orks in anticipation of a game. I have both the Epic 40k and Titan Legion boxes and rules, and I'm starting with the Titan Legion models, with a goal to finish the box in April or May.
I also have quite a few painted knights, warhounds, reavers, etc. probably 30+ models so I'm sure I can put together a force of any size with those.
Would love to learn the Epic 40k box rules but it would be a learning game and slower. I haven't actually played before aside from perusing the rulebooks. Panzer 8 would be simple to set up. It has been years since I played, but it's what got me into my enjoyment of mech games. The tactics have less nuance than epic but are quite fun as I recall. Happy to do either.
Let me calc up how many points I think I can have painted for Epic Orks this weekend and I'll let you know what I think I can do early next week 500 pts is probably manageable for Orks. More for a knight titan force. Either location works for me. Will pm you with a few details.
Cheers, JR

Re: 40K Epic
Hi Jon,
If you want to put your knights, warhounds, reavers etc. against my Dark Angles (486 points) that would be great. Although we can do Panzer first. For Panzer my models come out to 363 points. If you have a bigger force or want to play a bigger game let me know and I can start painting up more miniatures.
Thank you,
Michael

Re: 40K Epic
Michael,
I sent you a PM re a question and logistics for a potential game. Panzer 8 sounds great as a starter. It will allow me to get more than a handful of models on the table (Epic would only allow roughly 6 models in a game matching close to your Epiq pt total). I should have no problem coming up with a force of 363 pts using the Panzer 8 sci fi rules.

Re: 40K Epic
Hi all,
A question for you. What size force would a ‘normal’ game of Panzer 8 Sci-Fi be? I put together a Space Marine force for the game and was trying to get to the ‘standard’ Epic 40,000 game size of 1,000 points. I read the Panzer rules and it doesn't list a points number, just that a game of 10 to 30 miniatures / bases would fit on the table. 10 to 30 miniatures comes to around 400 points. Does that sound right to everyone?

Re: 40K Epic
I haven't played Pz8 in a very long time. 400 pts sounds like a decent size for a starter game. We can tweak it from there. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to stat out things like Mega Gargants and Imperator Titans. Seems like they'll end up being terrain, or stated up as XL Heavy Walkers with tweeks to movement and range.
