That castle looks amazing, Sir. Looking forward to playing with it on the table. My wife has a 5:30 meeting, and I'll be home until she gets back, so I expect it is highly likely I will be late this evening. The meeting is supposed to end around 7pm, so I doubt I will be there before 7:20 or so. If it goes long, I will have to wait until she gets back to head out, so expect I'll be there late I will message here with an update on my expected timing. Feel free to start without me if needed.
For siege equipment if needed we can use my Siege Giant as a Siege Tower, and if I can get enough paint on it I have a Skullcracker that would make a great ram (otherwise my mortar/lava worm model can work as a ram as well. Neither will be in my 1500pt list. I also have 4 bolt throwers I will bring (oop dark elf ones) fully painted that can be used as ballistea by either force.
Kings of War Finale. Thanks for all the fish!

Sorry to bow out last minute again, but I'm not going to be able to make it. I'm hoping to be more available going forward.

We might want to get started a little earlier to setup and such. If I open the doors at 6, what's the earliest you all can show up?
Oops, forgot to respond to this part. I should be able to get there between 6 and 6:15 to start setting up.

Sounds good. See you then.

Hey y'all!
Great gaming for the finale last night. Here are my pics.
First, the two shots of the shortbread man:
Here's the castle setup:
Here's a fun tryptic of the full table:
Some more deployment shots:
Early turn maneuvering here, including my best tactical contribution of the game, which was keeping the heavy cavalry in reserve behind the steam ogres:
The steam ogres begin battering the gate:
The right side wall falls and the steam ogres face off against the huscarls, which ultimately beat them back:
...but this leaves the huscarls open to a charge from my patient heavy cavalry, who storm the breach while my own huscarls gain the tower with their siege ladders, essentially sealing the fate of the defenders:
Karl's dragon faces off against the fiercest-looking tower artillery:
And finally, this one is a fun shot where I actually managed to make a composite photo with two different focal lengths to have both the dragon and the field of battle in focus at the same time. For all that, it doesn't look that incredible, but it's still a nice evocative shot:

That all looks fantastic!
Anybody have a few pics from the end of the game?
SO THIS IS THE END...
Thanks again to all those who participated in the campaign. Special credit is due to Michael for creating a narrative and visual setting for us in the border regions of the Old World.
On a personal note, a KOW campaign is something I've wanted to do for a long time and this was a real milestone for my gaming. Very appreciative of you all for making this happen.

Right back atcha. The castle was by far the most ambitious hobby project I've ever attempted, and if I didn't have the motivation of the campaign to finish it, I might have been working on it for another 2 years. Likewise, a siege game has been on my bucket list ever since I bought my first monopose plastic high elves 23 years ago. I think that warrants a huzzah.
