Benefit for Brian Stuchell, co-owner of Greenfire Games

Postby jlopatin » Sat Jul 15, 2017 11:11 am

Hey everyone, our friend Brian, one of the owners of our FLGS Greenfire Games is very ill and about to undergo a life changing surgery. Due to a serious infection, he has to get a large portion of his jawbone removed. It will be replaced with a prosthetic. He will need extensive therapy post surgery to help him recover. Unfortunately, he has no insurance.

Matt Sears and I are working with Greenfire to organize a benefit for him. The event will be held at Greenfire on September 23. Other local businesses will be participating as well. There will be multiple raffles, live music, game demos, and hopefully some other events as well.

We are looking for people to run demos at the event. If you are interested, please let me know asap. The more the merrier.

I would also like to organize a terrain building day. We can make some cool stuff and add it to the pool of raffle prizes.

If anyone has any more ideas to make this event bigger and better, please speak up! Brian needs our help!

I will continue to update this post as details are finalized.
- Josh

I can provide supplies and maybe host a terrain making day. I'll think if there might be anyone else I can ask.

I'd be up for a terrain making day, but I can't make the regular Wednesday night gatherings at Josh's house.

Whether or not I can attend, I'll find something to put in the auction.

I can run some Shadow War demos. Would be a nice way to make a cool layout without having to take up too much space and also support a game the sore actually carries.

What's the music situation/style/etc? I haven't asked him yet, but maybe my brother and I could do a half hour of our snarky, low-key country/americana tunes? We're just a duet now with Acoustic, Vox and Pedal Steel.

If you want to play, sure, but no pa. You need to keep the volume at a low level!

Cool.
No commitments, but I'll check with him and let you all know. No PA is just fine with us.
