It was so good getting back in to play with y'all last night. And I think I dig Song of Blades and Heroes. At the very least, now that I've got a horrible defeat ... uh, I mean, first game ... under my belt, I can read the rules again and see what I messed up. I think I was supposed to get a +1 when shooting from cover, that I never used, and I'm sure I forgot my Gregarious bonus at least once.

Also, I'm probably going to get myself a set of the Litko measuring tools and tokens. Yes, I could make my own, but I'm a sucker for colorful acrylic. :-)

Quoth James: "BTW, Charlie, your headlight is out."

Yeah. Every time I get in the car, I remember it, and say, "OK, as soon as it gets warm enough, I gotta fix that." And immediately forget until the next time...

One more thing -- I just discovered that it's not just the "quote" tag that is throwing the forum into a tizzy. It's _any_ BBCode tags. I tried to send my previous post with some italics and a formatted URL, but no quote, and it still barfed on me. Taking those out did the trick.

So, when I decide I like a game, I go a little nuts. I just bought the three main supplements for SBH, and since they were free, I got all four issues of Free Hack.

The first one seems to be mostly FAQs about the SBH rules, and there's one that we needed to know last night:

Q: How many group activation orders can a Leader give? It doesn't say that it is limited to one group, or did I miss it. Is the leader able to give an order to several different groups limited by the number of successes obtained

A: A leader can only give one order per turn. Giving a a group move order ends the leader's turn, so giving the order must be the last thing he does or you would waste actions. Then you move to the group that has received the order and roll to activate it.

That answers our questions of "does the group move interrupt the leader's turn?"

It looks like I fixed the issues.

Can someone try posting images when they get a chance?

Thanks to everyone who came out on Monday.
It was a great time.

Glad to see you've gone headfirst down the SBH Rabbit Hole.

I'm getting deja vu here. I think perhaps a decade ago Tim or Pat may have solved the same leadership activation question with the same reference!

Great minds think alike I guess.

Thanks for looking it up!

I remember a big 2 on 2 battle at Pat's house where this question came up previously. It was Pat and I as defenders of a castle, and Karl and Tim (I think) as attackers. My SBH force for that campaign had a number of ranged fighters, and I used the group tactics to make them quite deadly...
