Pat's Dwarf Army (photos)
This is a thread to help organize my dwarf army, which by this point is big enough for "starter" games of Kings of War.

Up first are two units of Ironclads, the core dwarf troop type.

The figures are a mix of Ral Partha, Heartbreaker, Ghost Minis and Alternative Armies.

Here's a unit of berzerker brock riders. As you can see, it's not quite complete -- I need two more figures to make a proper block of cavalry. But of course, this is perfectly playable in Kings of War, since the game doesn't really care about individual figures.

Some special characters ...
A dwarf lord (Warhammer)

A standard bearer (Heartbreaker)

A bard/champion (Reaper, painted by Josh!)

A berzerker champion on a freakin' polar bear (Reaper)

A demonslayer (Warhammer promo figure, painted via commission by Mars Miniatures)

A unit of miners (will probably field them as Bulwarkers for Kings of War). These are plastic Warhammer figures that I acquired painted via ebay. I just gave 'em a wash with Minwax Polyshades and they were good to go!
The champion in the front row is from Stonehaven Miniatures.

Here's a unit of rangers, which in Kings of War function like infiltrators, capable of fighting in close combat and with ranged weapons. This unit was fun to piece together, since it features so many different weapon combinations and manufacturers. There's old Games Workshop musketeers, crowssbowmen from Ral Partha and Ghost Minis, plus a flaming oil bombardier from Alternative Armies in the front row!

ARTILLERY! The smaller guns are from the Mantic artillery kit. The larger weapons are actually prepainted siege weapons from MageKnight, rebased onto scenic bases. Otherwise I left them alone and didn't repaint them.

The crew are mostly Ral Partha guys.

Here's an ancient fire cannon dwarf from Grenadier. He was bouncing around in my bits box for many years before I dug him out and put some paint on him last year.

Last pic for now! This is my frost giant (a Reaper Bones figure) and a newly painted dwarf champion from Reaper.

These look great! I am very pleased with how well the bard fits in with the rest of the army.
